This practice report was based on the author’s consecutive interpreting practice for a class of Grade 1 of a primary school in Shenyang on October 9th,2022.With the growing exchanges between China and foreign countries, more and more Chinese students have the opportunity to participate in foreign teachers’ classes.Affected by the epidemic at that time, many courses could only be conducted online. In this situation, online classes have become a new channel for foreign teachers to teach Chinese students.Based on the content of this class interpreting, the author transcribed it into text and completed this practice report of consecutive interpreting. The report first introduced the background and requirements of this class interpreting task, described the preparation before interpreting, the situation of online interpreting and the evaluation of the class participants.Secondly, according to the information structure theory, the author analyzed how to better convey information to students through the amplification of cultural information and the omission of given information in class interpreting, and how to reasonably arrange the order of information to reproduce the information focus of the source language in interpreting,so that the interpreting can reflect the characteristics of both languages.Through this practice of consecutive interpreting in English class, the author has found her own shortcomings in interpreting, and hopes to take this as a lesson to improve her interpreting ability and provide reference for class interpreting activities.
