A Study On The Popular Form Of Characters Of Chinese Buddhist Classics Unearthed In The Baizikrik Grottoes In Turpan

The Chinese Buddhist classics unearthed in the baizikrik Grottoes in Turpan(hereinafter referred to as the Classics)sorted out a number of Chinese Manuscripts found in the baizikrik grottoes,roughly dating from the Western Jin Dynasty to the Northern Song Dynasty.This paper analyzes and studies the common characters in the classics from three aspects: strokes,components and whole characters.This paper is divided into seven chapters,and its main contents are as follows:The first chapter introduces the publishing background of classics,summarizes the research status of the unearthed documents and characters in Turpan,expounds the research status and research methods of classics and popular form of characters,and finally explains the definition of popular form of characters.The second chapter mainly focuses on the study of the strokes of popular form of characters,which is analyzed from four aspects: the change law of the shape of strokes,the change of the relative position between strokes,the increase of strokes and the decrease of strokes.The third chapter explains the variation form,component replacement,component mixing and symbol substitution of Chinese popular form of characters.Starting from the structure of the whole word,the fourth chapter explains the reconstruction motivation of popular form of characters,increasing components,reducing components,the change of component combination relationship and intra word assimilation.The fifth chapter analyzes the characteristics of popular form of characters.The popular form of characters in the classics mainly have three characteristics: the historical inheritance of form,the difference of variation and the high frequency of some components.The sixth chapter attempts to analyze the causes of the popular form of characters in the classics from three aspects: the factors of the characters themselves,the social and political factors and the factors of the writers.The seventh chapter explains the significance and value of the research on the popular form of characters in the classics.The research on the popular form of characters in the classics is of certain positive significance to improve the development history of characters,supplement the lack of words in the second edition of the Chinese dictionary,and promote the exploration of the law of simplification of Chinese characters.
