| On October 27,2019,the CPC Central Committee and the State Council issued Implementation Outline of Citizen Moral Construction in the New Era,requiring the whole society to strengthen the construction of social morality,professional ethics,family virtue and personal morality,so as to deepen the construction of socialist ideology and morality.At the same time,Outline points out that inheriting Chinese traditional virtues is an important dimension to strengthen the moral construction of citizens in the new era.The excellent family precepts in ancient China condense the essence of Chinese traditional virtues.The family precepts of the Ming and Qing Dynasties deserve our contemporary attention.Yuan Liao Fan is a thinker in the Ming Dynasty.His family motto work Liao Fan’s Four Lessons contains the way to treat people,the method to treat things and the way to govern the country.It comes down in one continuous line with the four focus points of Outline and has the same effect.After dialectical screening,Liao Fan’s Four Lessons can become an important cultural resource for the construction of socialist spiritual civilization with Chinese characteristics.This thesis chooses Liao Fan’s Four Lessons to explain it.In the context of the new era,I try to make a new synthesis of it and make a modest contribution to carrying forward its contemporary value.Firstly,this thesis analyzes the origin of the moral education thoughts in Liao Fan’s Four Lessons.Liao Fan’s Four Lessons was created in the late Ming Dynasty with surging thoughts.At that time,people were in decline and at the peak of the integration of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism.Yuan Liao Fan inherited the family feelings used to help the world,combined with his tortuous life experience,created this famous family motto classic through the ages.Secondly,this thesis explains the three aspects of the moral education thoughts of Liao Fan’s Four Lessons.First,the way to treat yourself and others includes the ideas of self-improvement,knowing mistakes and being able to correct them,being modest,respecting elders,loving and caring,and accumulating kindness into virtue.Second,the principle of treating things includes the thought of awe,love and respect.Third,the way of governing the country includes the thought of not forgetting the original intention,inheriting civilization and patriotism.Thirdly,under the guidance of the position of "weeding out the old and bringing forth the new and making the past serve the present",this thesis evaluates and analyzes the moral education thought of Liao Fan’s Four Lessons,and extracts the reasonable core,that is,paying attention to the cultivation of virtue,having the power to be good,and seeking the unity of knowledge and practice.Meanwhile,it also analyzes its historical limitations.Finally,under the guidance of Outline,abandon the bad and pick the best,make comprehensive innovation,compare,analyze and integrate the contemporary value of Liao Fan’s Four Lessons for strengthening the moral construction of citizens in the new era,and discuss it from four aspects.First,help the construction of social morality.Liao Fan’s Four Lessons calls on people to be civilized and polite,help others and take care of the environment.Second,promote the construction of professional ethics.Liao Fan’s Four Lessons enlightens people to uphold the feelings of home and country in choosing a career and pay attention to the awareness of rules in employment.Third,support the construction of family virtue.Liao Fan’s Four Lessons teaches people to be filial to their relatives,respectful to their elders and be diligent and thrifty.Fourth,promote the construction of personal morality.Liao Fan’s Four Lessons warns people of self-improvement and self-reliance,self-discipline and self-examination,self modesty and self-respect.Liao Fan’s Four Lessons is an important text of China’s traditional family motto.This thesis takes its excellent moral education thought as the main focus,inherits and carries forward its moral wisdom,demonstrates its positive significance for the moral construction of contemporary citizens,and tries to provide new ideas for the creative transformation and innovative development of Chinese traditional virtues. |
