A Study Of Zuo Zhuan In The Eastern Han Dynasty

Zuo Zhuan has a far-reaching influence in history,literature and many other fields.It has been concerned and discussed by scholars for a long time,and then gradually formed a study of Zuo Zhuan.The Eastern Han Dynasty was a key stage in the development of the study of Zuo Zhuan.It inherited the Western Han Dynasty and opened the Wei and Jin Dynasties.It was a transitional period from the formation to the prosperity of Zuo Zhuan studies.The emergence of a large number of Zuo Zhuan scholars and works is a obvious sign of the prosperity of Zuo Zhuan in the Eastern Han Dynasty.The quotation of Zuo Zhuan in works and speeches is also an important manifestation of the prosperity of Zuo Zhuan in the Eastern Han Dynasty.This paper aims to investigate the specific situation of the study of Zuo Zhuan in the Eastern Han Dynasty through the collection and reading of various documents,with a view to deepen the understanding of Zuo Zhuan in the Eastern Han Dynasty.The article includes two parts: introduction and the main text,which is divided into four chapters.The introduction discusses the study of Zuo Zhuan before the Eastern Han Dynasty,including the completion of Zuo Zhuan,the quotations and transcriptions of Zuo Zhuan by the pre-Qin scholars,the scholars and writings of Zuo Zhuan in the Western Han Dynasty.The first chapter discusses the reasons and characteristics of the wide spread of Zuo Zhuan in the Eastern Han Dynasty,including the support of the rulers,giving and receiving privately,the quotation of imperial edicts and memorials,the emergence of synthetical texts.The first section of the second chapter discusses the specific situation of Zuo Zhuan scholars in the Eastern Han Dynasty.It points out that there were 49 scholars of Zuo Zhuan in the Eastern Han Dynasty,and analyzes their spatial and temporal distribution characteristics and reasons.The second section discusses the academic works of Zuozhuan and its lost in previous dynasties.It is pointed out that there were 37 Works on Zuo Zhuan in the Eastern Han Dynasty,but they have been lost for generations,and now they have all disappeared.The third chapter discusses the basic contents and characteristics of the existing works of Zuo Zhuan in the Eastern Han Dynasty.The contents include phonetic notation,sentence reading,the interpretation of words,the description of figures,geographical names and objects,the annotation of astronomy,calendar and etiquette,the comprehensive dredging of biographies,etc;The characteristics involve four aspects: the similarities and differences of writing styles,the strict observance of family law in interpretation,the confluence and integration of three biographies,and the citation of other people and other books.The fourth chapter discusses the quotation of Zuo Zhuan in the writings and speeches of the people of the Eastern Han Dynasty.The first section points out that there are two ways of citation:quote speech and cite historical facts,and counts the temporal and spatial distribution and the number of citations in the form of list.The second section summarizes the four main themes of Zuo Zhuan quoted in the speech: the thought of loyalty to the monarch,the thought of rule of virtue,the thought of respecting the virtuous,and the thought of etiquette and law.
