| In the context of the development of economic globalization,the construction and improvement of the world intellectual property system is crucial,which relates to undistorted competition of global economic activities.Compared with the economic protection behaviors of developed countries,China has much more to do to develop the awareness of the protection of the intellectual property rights.A Casebook on the Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights(4th Edition),published in 2018,is distributed by WIPO.It is a specialized guidebook which provides the latest intellectual property cases,and presents a comprehensive and professional analysis and guidance of the infringement and protection of intellectual property rights in the world based on the laws and regulations related to trademarks.The casebook gives an important reference value for the improvement of China’s IP protection system.This report,based on the Chinese translation text of A Casebook on the Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights(Excerpts),briefly cites Eugene Nida’s Functional Equivalence Theory,and summarizes the characteristics and translation methods of the text-type of intellectual property rights.The report analyzes from three aspects:vocabulary,syntax and discourse,respectively.At the lexical level,the analysis focuses on the authority of Chinese translation of intellectual property terms to achieve lexical equivalence;at the syntactic level,the relevant translation methods are summarized with syntactic features to enhance the logic of the translated sentences;at the level of discourse,the report focuses on the coherence and readability of the translated discourse according to the elaboration of the context of the text and language localization in functional equivalence.On the basis of practice,the author has a certain grasp of the Chinese translation method of intellectual property texts,and proposes corresponding improvement methods for the shortcomings exposed in the translation process. |
