In the decision-making process, many factors will affect the decision maker’s final result, and the decision maker’s own characteristics and task attributes,as one of the main situational factors in the process of suggestion adoption, have a great influence on the degree of suggestion adoption. As one of the characteristics of decision makers, will overconfidence have a significant impact on the process of recommendation adoption? On this basis, the differences in the degree of recommendation adoption of individuals with different confidence levels were investigated. At the same time, this paper will measure overconfidence in two ways, explore the joint impact of overconfidence and task difficulty on suggestion adoption, and further improve the relevant theory of suggestion adoption. In this study, two experiments were conducted to explore whether overconfidence and task difficulty had an impact on the adoption of suggestions, and what the specific impact was.To explore whether overconfidence has significant influence on the degree of advice seeking and adoption in the benefit relationship situation when further introducing the reward and punishment situation related to the participants’ interests. The results are as follows:In experiment 1,the difference between overconfident individuals and nonoverconfident individuals in the situation of free advice was investigated, and the change of the degree of advice adoption in the face of simple and difficult tasks was investigated. The results showed that the degree of advice adoption of the nonoverconfident group was higher than that of the overconfident group, and the degree of advice adoption of the difficult task was higher than that of the simple task. After the suggestion, with the increase of the difficulty of coin task, the proposal adoption degree of both overconfident and non-overconfident individuals increased, and the proposal adoption degree of non-overconfident individuals was significantly higher than that of overconfident individuals. In experiment 2,participants were asked to choose whether to spend money to buy advice, and were rewarded and punished according to the error of the estimation result based on the number of coins,so as to explore the influence of overconfidence level on advice seeking in the paid advice situation, and further analyze whether overconfidence and task difficulty have significant difference on individual adoption degree after advice seeking. The results showed that the suggestion seeking rate of overconfident individuals was significantly lower than that of non-overconfident subjects, and the interaction between overconfidence and task difficulty on suggestion adoption was significant after suggestion seeking. When the difficulty of the task was low,the adoption degree of the overconfident group was lower than that of the nonoverconfident group, and as the difficulty of the task increased, the adoption degree of the overconfident group was higher than that of the non-overconfident group. The results show that overconfidence and task difficulty have significant effects on the adoption degree of individual suggestions: in the situation of no interest relationship, the adoption degree of overconfidence individuals is generally lower than that of nonoverconfidence individuals. In the context of benefit gain and loss, the degree of advice seeking of overconfident individuals was lower than that of non-overconfident individuals, and the degree of advice adoption of overconfident individuals increased with the increase of task difficulty, while the degree of advice adoption of nonoverconfident individuals decreased with the increase of task difficulty.
