External advice is an essential part of quality decision making, and college students often need to rely on the advice of others to make decisions in their career decisionmaking process;and the taking of others’ advice often affects the quality of decisions.Studies have found that advice and characteristics affected the weight of advice taking, such as the type of advice, evaluative information, quantity of advice, and quality of advice.evaluation information changes individuals’ attitudes, judgments and decisions on events by providing positive and negative information, which in turn affects the final decision-making behavior.however, when individuals have formed their own initial views on decision-making issues, affected by their initial views, external suggestions may not be adopted or ignored at this time, and the consistency among information can improve individuals’ taking rate of suggestions to a certain extent. When making career decisions, individuals are influenced by their career values and career choices, and they pay more attention to value-oriented information such as salary, and the satisfaction of this information determines the final decision outcome.Based on this, this study uses the JAS paradigm to investigate the effects of evaluation information, advice type and matching method on the taking of advice in college students’ career decision making based on the concept of person-job fit using behavioral experiments. To examine the effects of evaluative information, advice type and matching method on the advice taking in college students’ career decision making, two studies of four experiments were designed in this study.Study I selected 90 subjects to examine the effects of evaluation information and advice type on advice taking in career decision-making situations;Experiment I used a one-way within-subjects experimental design with the independent variable of evaluation information(positive evaluation, negative evaluation, and no evaluation)and the dependent variable of weight of advice taking(WOA),and the results showed that the main effect of evaluation information was significant, and compared with positive evaluation, the subjects’ weight of taking of negative evaluation;Experiment 2 used 2(advice type: consistent, inconsistent)× 2(evaluation information: positive evaluation, negative evaluation)within-subject experimental design,The results showed that the main effect of advice type was significant, and the interaction between advice type and evaluation information was significant, and the subjects’ taking weight for positive evaluation was higher than that for negative evaluation under the consistent condition, while under the inconsistent condition, the subjects’ taking weight for negative evaluation was higher than that for positive,This indicates that different factors have different validity for different college students. In Study 2,102 subjects were selected to examine the effects of matching method and advice type on advice taking in career decision-making situations.Experiment 3 used a single-factor within-subjects experimental design, with the independent variable being matching method(matching, mismatching)and the dependent variable being the weight of advice taking(WOA),and the results showed that the main effect of matching method was significant, and the decision makers’ taking weight was higher when information validity and evaluation information matched compared to mismatching.Experiment 4used 2(advice type: consistent, inconsistent)× 2(matching method: matching,mismatching)within-subject experimental design was used to further explore the effect of matching method on advice taking in career decision making under different advice types, and the results showed that the main effect of advice type was significant, the main effect of matching method was significant, and the interaction between advice type and matching method was significant. In summary, this study found that(1)evaluation information affected individuals’ decision process and decision behavior in career decision making;individuals adopt negative evaluations at a higher rate compared to positive evaluations;(2)matching of different validity information influences individuals’ career choice, and individuals adopt advice at a higher rate when matched compared to unmatched;(3)the effect of evaluation information on advice taking varies with advice type and matching method in career decision making. This means that career planning education in future, students should be guided to pay attention to positive evaluation,In addition, students should be helped to establish correct career selection and career values in order to change the influence of the career matching concept on their career decisions.
