| Work and family have traditionally been the two activities that people are most concerned about, and they are directly related to the physical and mental health,well-being of individuals, organizational performance and social stability. How to properly manage the relationship between work and family and improve personal happiness and marital satisfaction has been an issue worth exploring. At present, scholars at home and abroad have done more detailed and in-depth research on the concept, influencing factors and measurement of marital satisfaction, while less research has been done on the intervention aspect of marital satisfaction, and no systematicand effectiveintervention theories andmethods havebeen formed. In recent years, the focus of work-family research has gradually shifted in the context of positive organizational behavior and positive psychology. They have found that the work-family relationship can have a positive effect, and that this positive effect can further enhance the individual’s happiness experience, and researchers have proposed the concept and theoretical basis of work-family enrichment. On this basis,a researcher developed a model of work-to-family resource transfer, with the aim of examining the effects of intentional resource transfer from work to family roles and demonstrating that work-to-family role enrichment can be enhanced by increased self-efficacy and can be achieved through employee-centered training program. How does the transfer of work resources to the home environment positively affect marital satisfaction by enhancing work-family enrichment and work-family self-efficacy? This needs tobe further researched and explored. In this study, group counselling(2 sessions)was used as the intervention tool, and the intervention group(25 participants)was trained for one month, with each session consisting of two online(Tencent Meeting App)group counselling activities and four weeks of practice(“Fun Practice” App)The control group(31 participants)did not take any intervention.Three surveys(questionnaires including the Work-Family Enrichment Scale, the Work-Family Enrichment Self-Efficacy Scale, and Marital Satisfaction of the couple)were administered to the intervention and control groups before, during and after the intervention to collect data for the longitudinal study. In this study,paired-samples t-tests were used to test for differences in marital satisfaction status(for both spouses)before and after the intervention in the same group. The change in data between the intervention and control groups at the middle and end of the administration was compared using an independent samples t-test.Pre-test data on Work-family Enrichment(instrumental and affective)were used as covariates in the analysis of variance, and the post-test results for the intervention and control groups were analysis for covariance. The results of the analysis were as follows: post-test data for the intervention group on the Work-Family Enrichment(instrumental)and Work-Family Enrichment(affective)subscales were significantly different from the post-test data for the control group(p < 0.05,0.028 and 0.022 respectively).Participants in the intervention group had borderline significant differences in their scores on Work-family Enrichment Self-efficacy compared to the control group scores(p = 0.058).Participants in the intervention group had statistically significant increases in pre and post test scores on both the overall Marital Satisfaction and Marital Satisfaction Scales(p < 0.05,0.01 and0.036 respectively);spouses in the intervention group did not have statistically significant changes in pre and post test scores on both the overall Marital Satisfaction and Marital Satisfaction Scales. In the control group, participants and their spouses did not show significant changes in pre-and post-scores on both the overall Marital Satisfaction and Marital Satisfaction Scales.Thefindings ofthe study are as follows.Ⅰ.The work-resource transfer intervention significantly increased work-family enrichment(instrumental and affective).Ⅱ.The work-resource transfer intervention increased participants’ marital satisfaction and could improve theirmarital relationships.Based on the above findings, this study concludes that: the intervention of work-resource transfer to the home environment was effective in enhancing work-family enrichment(instrumental and affective)and had a significant improvement in participants’ marital satisfaction, reaffirming the positive effect of work-family enrichment on marital satisfaction. |
