A Study On Intertextuality Of Schumann’s Piano Cycle Papillon (Op.2) | Posted on:2023-10-02 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | Country:China | Candidate:J Chen | Full Text:PDF | GTID:2555306818995709 | Subject:School of music and dance | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | "Papillon" is one of the representative works of the German composer Robert Schumann(1810-1856).As the second work in Schumann’s early creation,the piano suite butterfly "is Schumann’s most famous and unique genre innovation-it is composed of interrelated small personalized music.The repetition of fragmentary musical materials contained in this suite and the ambiguous relationship between music and the literary work flegeljahre all make this work show the characteristics of personalization and innovation.On the basis of these musical features,the author attempts to interpret the relationship between butterfly and multiple texts through the concept of intertextuality.This paper is divided into four chapters.The research content mainly involves the interpretation of the concept and formation process of intertextuality and the specific interpretation of intertextuality in butterfly.The first chapter mainly discusses the discrimination of the concept of intertextuality and the formation path of intertextuality text intersection dialogue generation.The concept of intertextuality presents the characteristics of complexity,which is mainly due to the definition of intertextuality by many Chinese and foreign literary theorists after christiva put forward this concept.Therefore,it is necessary for us to distinguish and clarify the boundary of the concept of intertextuality and clarify its profound meaning from the comparison of the definition of intertextuality by multiple theorists.In the process of analyzing the concept of intertextuality,the author finds that intertextuality has the formation process of text intersection,dialogue and generation,which makes the relationship between text and text change from static to dynamic.The second chapter focuses on the intersection of multiple texts in butterfly.According to the records of historical materials and the analysis of music noumenon,this chapter explains the intersection between the suite and other music texts and literary texts.The third chapter further focuses on the dialogue relationship between butterfly and other texts.Among them,the dialogue between the internal music of butterfly and between butterfly and other music texts is formed through the strategy of quotation,and multiple texts form the dialogic text interaction through quotation.The dialogue between butterfly and literary text mainly produces dialogue through the strategy of imitation,which is mainly reflected in the imitation of novel digression by music genre and the juxtaposition of music beat,tonality and structure,forming the imitation of humor.The fourth chapter is the meaning generation of butterfly,which is discussed from two aspects: the network structure formed in the macro and the gyratory structure formed in the micro.The conclusion is the rethinking of the text of butterfly by analyzing the formation process of intertextuality in butterfly,and comes to the conclusion of the integration and openness of the text of butterfly. | Keywords/Search Tags: | Papillon, Intertextuality, Text, Intersection, Dialogue, Generate | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
