| With the rapid development of Chinese teaching at home and abroad,teaching Chinese as a foreign language has also made some achievements in the design and compilation.The existing textbooks of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,especially the junior and middle-level textbooks are mostly in the form of conversation.Character image is an important part of it,and the character image in the textbooks is becoming more and more important.Therefore,what Chinese characters have been shaped in the texts of junior and middle-level TCFL textbooks,what levels of these Chinese characters have been portrayed,and what characteristics have been shown in these Chinese characters have become the focus of this study.This study is based on the text of New Practical Chinese Textbook(1-4).On the basis of summarizing the relevant research results of predecessors’ teaching Chinese as a foreign language,this paper comprehensively uses the literature method and data statistics method to investigate the Chinese characters in four sets of teaching Chinese as a foreign language textbooks,combs the relevant data of the Chinese characters in the textbooks,and analyzes the characteristics and current situation of the Chinese characters in the textbooks from the external image and internal image.Firstly,in terms of the external image of Chinese characters,the background of Chinese characters,as for character setting and number of characters,the number of Chinese characters in the textbook is relatively rich,and the frequency of character appearance is reasonable.It not only sets up the main Chinese characters,but also has a certain proportion of secondary characters to participate in,and reflects the characteristics of primary and secondary clear.In terms of age,the age distribution of Chinese figures in the textbooks is relatively comprehensive,and the figures at five age levels are reflected.However,there is a proportion imbalance at the age level,and the proportion of middle-aged and young people is too large.In terms of gender,there is a large difference in the proportion of men and women in the textbooks,and there is a small number of female figures in China,so there is a gender imbalance.In terms of occupations,the types of occupations of Chinese characters in the textbooks are diversified,but there are some problems that the setting of certain occupations is not in line with the current situation of social development in China.In communication,the Chinese character relations in the New Practical Chinese Textbook are mostly designed around the three aspects of family,campus and public service,which are in line with the teaching materials and the background relationship of the characters.The relationship types of Chinese characters in the textbook and the image of Chinese characters appear on demand.The relationship between characters is close,the relationship is clear,and the development of the story is clear.When it comes to the appearance characteristics of Chinese characters,most of the illustrations of Chinese characters in the textbooks are in line with the appearance characteristics of Chinese people,including their appearance and dress with distinctive age,age and professional characteristics.However,there are still a small number of Chinese characters whose appearance characteristics are inconsistent with the contemporary Chinese characters.Again,from the name value of Chinese characters,New Practical Chinese Textbook has only seven names with a small number.The names of most of the characters are of measurable value.In terms of Chinese characters,the names of Chinese characters are commonly used characters,simple structure and strokes,do not involve any rare words.In terms of phonemes,there is a lack of syllables that can help learners to correct errors in the selection of Chinese characters for the names of characters in the textbooks,such as,j,q,z,c,x,sh and other phonemes,which has a positive impact on Chinese teaching and learning.Secondly,in terms of the internal image of Chinese characters,the psychological image of Chinese characters includes two aspects of emotion and personality.Emotionally,the eight basic types of emotions are reflected in the Chinese characters in the text of New Practical Chinese Textbooks.The higher frequency of emotions is the image of Chinese characters with joy and expectation,and the frequency of Chinese characters with trust and aversion is small.On the whole,it shapes the image of Chinese with positive emotions for learners;in terms of characters,the “New Practical Chinese Textbook” basically depicts the vivid images of Chinese characters that conform to the psychological characteristics of the Chinese people.But there are still some Chinese characters out of reality,lack of times.As far as the moral image of Chinese characters is concerned,it includes four aspects: themselves,others,collectives and nature.It covers a comprehensive and extensive content,but there is a lack of specific moral factors.Finally,this paper discusses the research value of Chinese characters in teaching materials,and then puts forward some suggestions on Chinese characters in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.For teaching Chinese as a foreign language in the external image of Chinese characters,more attention should be paid to the selecting of character background,appearance and name value;intrinsic image should be based on the character’s psychological and moral point of view,shaping more in line with the social situation,real,diverse and representative of the Chinese characters.This paper is beneficial to the compilation of textbooks for Chinese as a foreign language and the teaching and research in this field,and calls for more attention to the image of Chinese characters in the compilation of textbooks in the future.It can have a broader vision in the compilation,increase characteristics and highlights for the compilation and research of textbooks for Chinese as a foreign language,and help teachers and students better use textbooks. |
