Research On Student Associations Of National Hangzhou Art School (1928-1937) During The Republic Of China

After the Opium War,art education took root with the establishment of missionary schools in China.Subsequently,during the educational reform from the late Qing Dynasty to the early Republic of China,a large number of Chinese went to the West and Japan to study actively or passively.Under the influence of the upsurge of studying abroad,western art ideas swept the country rapidly with the return of overseas students.Private or public art colleges and universities have emerged in various places,and art societies with various views have also been established.At that time,the scale and number of art societies are increasing,especially in Beijing and Shanghai.Art association is a combination of traditional literati association,calligraphy and painting collection and the development of modern Chinese new art education.The great educational reform in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China included "aesthetic education" in the educational purpose,and the government paid more and more attention to art education.With the prosperity and prosperity of new art education,student associations are developing rapidly.Then,under the trend of student autonomy,the establishment of student associations in various universities is reaching a climax.As the only national higher art college in China,the National Academy of Arts has been aiming at cultivating professional art talents,advocating art movement and promoting social aesthetic education since its establishment.In the teaching practice,students’ homework is divided into in-class and after-class,and students are actively encouraged to engage in artistic creation and artistic activities in the after-class homework.Therefore,the art school has a rich and colorful student associations.The emergence of student associations has become a bridge between the school and the society,and its activities,as an effective way for the school aesthetic education to turn to social aesthetic education,have a wide and far-reaching impact on the enlightenment of people’s wisdom,people’s aesthetic and ideological reform.National art student associations play an indispensable role in the art movement of the whole province and even the whole country,especially in the promotion of the development of local social aesthetic education,which is worth our further study.
