Starting from the history of aesthetics,education and newspapers,this paper combs the founding process of the two journals of aesthetic education by combining various educational thoughts around the May 4th movement,such as the thought of saving the nation through education,the thought of national education,the thought of vocational education,the thought of pragmatism education,the thought of utilitarianism education,the thought of science education,the thought of civilian education and the thought of educational independence This paper discusses the status of aesthetic education research and its influence in the history of modern Chinese aesthetics.The author takes the exploration of aesthetic education practice in the early Republic of China as the innovation point,and excavates the implementation status,characteristics and significance of aesthetic education practice in family,school and society.This paper discusses from four aspects.The first part starts from the historical background to explore the causes,process and influence of aesthetic education thoughts in the early Republic of China,and then combs the founding process of two aesthetic education magazines from the history of newspapers and periodicals.The magazine of aesthetic education of the Chinese aesthetic education association was established in the "emerging period" of art education journals in the Republic of China.It was directly and deeply influenced by the new culture movement,and its advocacy of aesthetic education was enlightening.Li Jinfa’s "aesthetic education"Magazine focuses on the appreciation of classic works of art and the intensive study of art theory,and its advocacy of aesthetic education is more pure and interesting.The second part analyzes the connotation and characteristics of "aesthetic education" in the early Republic of China.Both aesthetic education by Chinese Aesthetic Education Association and aesthetic education by Li Jinfa define "aesthetic education" as "art education",and take "art" as the main content of implementing"aesthetic education".The "aesthetic education" of the Chinese Aesthetic Education Association is practical.The purpose of the implementation of aesthetic education is to create a new people and strengthen the country,and the resources of the implementation of aesthetic education are the reformed traditional art.Li Jinfa’s"aesthetic education" is more aesthetical,with the cultivation of aesthetic feeling as the purpose of aesthetic education,and Western art,especially Greek art,as the resources of aesthetic education practice.The third part explores the interaction between Chinese modern aesthetic education and social ideas from the perspectives of pragmatism,utilitarianism,national education,science education,vocational education and civilian education.In terms of the change of the subject of aesthetic education and the relationship between aesthetic education and aesthetics,utility,morality and science,the aesthetic education in the early Republic of China had both inheritance and change,reflecting the characteristics of quasi modernity.The fourth part starts from the practice of aesthetic education,and discusses the specific content of the implementation of aesthetic education in the early Republic of China from three aspects of family aesthetic education,school aesthetic education and social aesthetic education.Family aesthetic education centers on children’s aesthetic education,school aesthetic education focuses on the cultivation of artistic skills,and social aesthetic education focuses on national moral education.The extensive implementation of aesthetic education in family,school and society makes "aesthetic education" really begin to produce efficiency in society.
