Evaluation Of The Copyright Value Of Domestic Films

In the context of the country’s strong support for cultural industries and the rising demand for movies by the people,the vigorous development of my country’s film market in the past ten years has created a trend of increasing film box office,the number of moviegoers and the number of films released.The development of domestic films has become an important part of the development of China’s film industry,but also an important channel to spread Chinese culture and values.This thesis first expounds the development of the film market,and through combing through domestic and foreign research literature,it is clear that the copyright value of domestic films is mainly composed of two parts: film box office revenue and platform licensing income.On the basis of this theory,100 films from 2016 to 2021 are processed by SPSS22,and the prerelease and post-release box office revenue prediction models of 10 categories of explanatory variables including creativity,time,theme,whether it is sequel or IP adaptation,publicity effect,screen time,audience number,ticket price,pre-release influence and film score are obtained.In addition,the joint network platform authorizes revenue and uses the revenue sharing method to derive the copyright value of the film.Finally,taking the released film "The Battle At Lake Changjin II" as an example,this thesis uses the screening box office prediction model and revenue sharing method to estimate the copyright value of the film,and analyzes the sensitivity of the main evaluation parameters.Among the four elements of the revenue sharing method,the change of revenue amount and share rate has a greater impact on the assessment results,and the impact of the discount rate and the term of income is small.The thesis concludes with a summary statement of the research process and evaluation results,and makes suggestions and personal outlooks.In the process of research,this thesis found that: First,China’s film industry has a weak development of the film derivatives market,and improving the film industry chain and increasing the development and protection of film derivatives is an important development direction for Chinese films in the future.Second,the audience pays more attention to the content and quality of the film,so that the quality of the film,the early influence of the film and the IP adaptation or sequel play a key role in the box office revenue.At the same time,the publicity effect is also linked to box office revenue,indicating that attention to publicity is also a key to ensure box office.Thirdly,it is suitable to provide reference for investment and financing transaction of film by using pre-screening box office prediction model and revenue sharing method to evaluate film copyright income.The film copyright revenue estimated by postscreening box office prediction model combined with revenue sharing method is suitable for providing reference for economic behavior such as copyright transaction authorization.
