| English writing is an important skill in English learning,which can best reflect the learners’ ability of comprehensive use of language.However,in the process of practical teaching,senior high school students’ ability to use English for writing is poor,and there are often various types of errors and mistakes.Therefore,how to identify the types of errors,investigate their causes and take effective measures to reduce them in English writing is an urgent problem in high school English writing today.Error analysis theory is to reveal the process and law of language learning by analyzing the speech errors of foreign language learners in the process of language learning and studying their sources.Error analysis,as an important methodology of foreign language teaching,is conducive to improving traditional writing teaching.This study used error analysis as the theoretical basis,and 100 students in the first grade of senior high school in Jiangxi Province were selected as the research subjects.Research methods such as analysis of students’ pre-test,questionnaires and interviews were used to understand the types and causes of senior high school students’ English writing errors.Through the teaching practice of the experimental class for 16 weeks,starting from the training of students’ interest in correcting mistakes,students were allowed to carry out corrective training,and then self correction was used as the main task,and teacher’s correction was supplemented for writing training.Finally,the author collected students’ English writing in pre-test and post-test.The data from the pre-test and post-test was analyzed using SPSS22.0 software in order to explore the feasibility of applying error analysis theory in teaching English writing in senior high school to guide students’ English writing and improve their writing skills.This study intended to solve the following problems:1.What are the errors that often occur in high school students’ English writing?2.What are the causes of errors in English writing?3.What are the effects of error analysis theory applied to English writing teaching on senior high school students’ English writing?The study found that students often made substance errors,vocabulary errors and grammatical errors in English writing.Before the experiment,students could not face up to the errors and had poor self correcting ability.Moreover,some students’ errors in their writing were often closely related to their Chinese thinking.The author needed to help students correctly handle differences between Chinese and Western cultures and cultivate students’ ability of thinking in English;The application of error analysis theory can not only improve senior high school students’ English writing ability and reduce their errors in their writing,but also improve their awareness of self-correction.The study has shown that error analysis theory applied to teaching English writing to senior high school students has a positive impact on students’ writing.There are some limitations in this study,but the author hope this study can provide new teaching ideas and teaching strategies for senior high school English teachers in writing teaching. |
