The Sonatine is an early piano work by Ravel, which inherits the classical composition concept in terms of harmony, melody, structure, rhythm, and weaving form, and at the same time integrates the musical characteristics of impressionism, which is a fusion of tradition and modernity, showing Ravel’s creative characteristics of balancing between tradition and innovation and being eclectic. The purpose of this paper is to study the performance techniques and treatment of Ravel’s Sonatine.Firstly,we introduce Ravel’s life and the composition characteristics of the Sinfonia, and then analyze the musical body of the Sinfonia from the aspects of composition, modulation, harmony and rhythm. The performance of the Sonatine is then studied in detail, focusing on the overall musical image, the treatment of the theme, the polyphonic touch technique and timbral variations, the treatment of various rhythmic patterns, and the pedal, and other aspects of appropriate performance interpretation.
