Historical Research On Bolor Erike

Bolor Erike was written in 1775 by Rahi Penske,a Mongolian historian,who was hailed as a representative to Mongolian historical criticism.The book was not only based on the historical compilation mode of Mongolian chronicle,but also used the historical records and thoughts recorded of the Chinese historiography of the Central Plain.It is an important history book in Mongolian historiography and mainly consists of five chapters.The first chapter is overview about Mongolia.Chapter two is about the origin of the Khans in Mongolia.Chapter three is about the official history of the Empire Dayuan.Chapter four is about the successive feudal lord.The fifth Chapter is about the origin of other feudal lord.Objective description of the relatively complete history of the gold family was recorded in this book,which contains a large number of special historical theories,revealing the historical thoughts and criticism thoughts of the author Rahi Penske.The writing background of Bolor Erike was studied and analysis was made on the policy of Qing Dynasty to Mongolia in the 18 th century and the development of Mongolian society in this period with the purpose of having a systematic discussion on the historical content of the book.Study on the historiography thought of Bolor Erike was mainly from two aspects.One is the author’s view on the homologous theory between Indo-Tibetan and Mongolian,religious controversy between Buddhism and Confucianism as well as the legitimacy of the Yuan Dynasty in the book,a good source for our further exploration of the author’s historical thoughts.The second is that the historical criticism thought behind the book was explored by studying the historical comments of the author Rahi Penske on the book History as a Mirror sequel and the author’s attitude and evaluation on the book.Based on the criticism and reference of Bolor Erike on Mongolian and Han history,It can be said that it is not only a self-innovation on Mongolian and Han historiography,but also a beneficial integration of Mongolian and Han historiography,which is of great significance to the communication of Mongolian and Han history.
