| Erdeni-yin erike is a book of contemporary history of Mongolia and was written by Galdan who was a tusalayci taij in Khalkha in1841. The book has rich content, occupies huge space and weighs high historical value. The book is also an important book in studying the history of Khalkha, in particular, Khalkha history during the ruling period of Qing Dysnasty.This thesis studies the sources of the book from the perspective of historical philology and reviews its historical value. This thesis is made up of three parts. First chapter introduces the life of galdan and the completion of the book Erdeni-yin erike. The second chapter explores the sources of Erdeni-yin erike. In this chapter, the sources of Erdeni-yin erike are analyzed from three aspects, such as literature, archival material and other Mongolian literature in the same period and induced the features of these reference historical records. Chapter Three views the historical value the book. This part mainly analyzes the records about the four Khans as the titular heads of four AIMAGS of Khalkha and deeds of Jibtzundamba Hutugtu. The thesis points out the unique value of Erdeni-yin erike. In the thesis, Erdeni-yin erike is compared with other Mongolian literature in the same period to reveal their relationship. Meanwhile, its influences to later documents and its historical value is investigated and evaluated. |
