The Acceptance Of Lu Hsun In America Under The Influence Of Cold War Political Culture

Since the reform and opening up,with the internationalization of Chinese college system and discipline system,China would consider the United States as a representative of the Western research paradigm,as the model of ’objectivity’ and’non-politicization’.It is considered that Lu Hsun’s studies under the paradigm of"ideology" in China present a completely different outlook,the perception behind this is the information gap between China and the United States.Only needs to dig a little bit further,during the Cold War,the political culture in America had a great influence on Lu Hsun’s study.Due to the limitation of time and translation,there are many flaws in the time,name,and content of the American academic research materials on Lu Hsun.This paper aims to fill in the gaps in the study of Lu Hsun’s acceptance in the United States during the Cold War by further research and based on correcting the above fallacies to study Lu Hsun’s acceptance in the United States under the influence of the cold War political culture on the basis of correcting the above fallacies.This paper would be conducted into three parts.The first part would be starting with the transformation of "Sinology" into "Chinese Studies" in the United States,this paper introduces the acceptance and academic study of Lu Hsun in the United States under the influence of political culture in the early cold War.The second part discusses the division and correction of lu Hsun’s studies in the United States under the influence of American academic scandal and the Quagmire of Vietnam War.The third part first analyzes the research characteristics of Chinese Americans and local Lu Hsun researchers.By Using the theory of the intellectual sociology,this paper investigates the political factors in the study of Lu Hsun in the United States during the Cold War,and then presents the more complicated aspect of the study and acceptance of Lu Hsun in the American academic community.Academic research needs to re-examine its own projection of ’idealization’ and’fragmentation’ of Lu Hsun studies in the United States,rebuild the broad vision,and restart the study of Lu Hsun.The differences in the study of Lu Hsun between China and the United States stem from their differences in academic culture,political system,and ideology,rather than ’neutral’,’pure literature’ and other ’universal values’.Lu Hsun’s study of this "signifier" field connects to the ample social and political concepts,relationships and problems,so it plays a unique role in symbols,breaking through institutional restrictions and facing realistic problems.Understanding the interfering factors behind the study is of great benefit to the future study of Lu Hsun.
