Textbooks play a vital role in the development and construction of any subject,especially in second language teaching.As the source of knowledge and skills acquired by learners,the quality of textbooks directly affects the quality of teaching and learning.This paper makes a comparative analysis of the two textbooks based on the relevant theories of listening research by taking Chinese listening accelerated·Intermediate published by Beijing Language and Culture University Press in 2010 and Developing Chinese · Intermediate Listening Course published in 2011 as the research objects.From the compilation concept and style of the whole textbook to the training of the key and difficult points of listening comprehension and micro-skills,this paper comprehensively analyzes the compilation features and shortcomings of the two textbooks,and puts forward some specific suggestions according to the research results.The research of this paper is mainly divided into the following six parts:The first part mainly analyzes the compilation theory and theoretical basis of listening teaching materials,from the early listening and speaking method to audiovisual method,after years of teaching practice,task-based teaching method and schema theory in listening teaching is more and more widely used.The second part makes a comparative analysis of the whole situation of the two textbooks,including volume division,unit division,text setting and so on,and also compares the compilation concept and arrangement style of the textbooks from a macro perspective.The comparison shows that there are obvious differences between the two textbooks in the use of illustrations and tables,which highlights that Developing Chinese is more interesting than Chinese listening accelerated.The third part introduces the key and difficult points of listening comprehension in the two textbooks,makes a comprehensive comparative analysis from the aspects of new words,long sentences,speed of speech,background knowledge and customary expression combined with specific items in the textbooks,and summarizes how learners overcome the obstacles in listening comprehension.The fourth part focuses on the analysis of the exercise design and the training of micro-skills in the two textbooks,and finds that the structure of the exercise design in the textbooks is not scientific,and the proportion of different exercise types is not reasonable.The fifth part,according to the conclusion of textbook analysis,puts forward some suggestions for textbook compilation and improvement in the aspects of the overall compilation of the textbook,the difficulties of listening comprehension and the training of micro-skills.Finally,the conclusion.This paper summarizes the overall research,points out its shortcomings and prospects the future related research.Through the study of these two textbooks,I have a deeper understanding of the compilation and teaching of listening textbooks,hoping to provide reference for the compilation of intermediate listening textbooks in the future,and constantly improve the content of listening textbooks and improve the quality of teaching materials.
