In recent years, the collection of calligraphy and painting has become a hot topic in the field of Chinese art history, and there are many new issues to be explored. The origin of the collection of calligraphy and painting can be traced back to the Wei and Jin Dynasties and even earlier, and later developed in the Song and Yuan Dynasties, and became very mature in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The change of dynasties in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties led to the emergence of the Erchen group. The identity of Erchen brought this group a career, and it also created favorable conditions for its calligraphy and painting collection. In addition,Erchen’s repentance further prompted him to carry out cultural sorting activities. This study selects the northern Erchen connoisseurs in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties as the starting point, and systematically explores their legal book conserving activities.Liang Qingbiao,Sun Chengze,Wang Duo,Feng Quan and others, with their strong collection ability, profound knowledge of calligraphy and profound inheritance influence, were in the leading position of the northern collection group in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. This research is based on the examination of Liang Qingbiao’s "Qiu Bitang Fashu" on the stone ink,Feng Quan’s "Kaixuetang Fashu" rare Erwang’s book, and Wang Duo’s "Xuanshan Garden Fashu" Yilin Shu.In the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, the contribution of the Northern Erchen connoisseurs in engraving the calligraphy. At the same time, through the examination of Sun Chengze’s "Gengzi Pin Xia Ji" of the collection of legal books and the inscriptions and postscripts of Song Quan and Song Lu’s father and son’s collection,it points out the achievements of the northern two ministers’ collection in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties in terms of literature and writing.Based on the above two aspects, this study finds that under the practice of the northern two ministers in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, the concept of "collecting the ancients and honoring the ancients" and "literary and artistic sustenance" has gradually formed in the society. It has an important influence on the development of calligraphy and painting collection in later generations. At the same time, the engraving and artistic concept of the calligraphy of the Northern Erchen connoisseurs in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties are of great guiding significance to the researcher’s calligraphy study. In this study, the texts and literatures of the two northern ministers in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties were combed and verified in detail, which provided a theoretical basis for the study of Chinese collections. At the same time,it points out the concept of art appreciation and collection of the northern two ministers in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, which is of great reference value for the direction of temporary calligraphy practice and the identification and defense of calligraphy and painting in later generations.
