Born in Zhejiang,LvLiuliang is a famous scholar in the early Qing Dynasty, and had abig impact both on academic and political history. However, due to the influence of literaryinquisition, his works was heavily destroyed after his death. In this way, there are fewcomments on his works which doesn’t match his status in history and makes his worksscattered and lost. There hasn’t a systemic inspection on Lv’s works so far, that’s why Idecided to write this paper to do a better research and discussion on the problem involved.Mostly depends on the original works and related materials as well as details found inhistorical data, catalogues in reference books, and mails, this paper does some researches andmakes conclusions. Firstly, by searching and investigating the original works, comments andbooks containing his words,the paper sorts out materials by category,puts the exiting ones inthe first place and the missing ones in the second place.Some items have revision contentsattached including the title, quantity, edition, collection and resource of relative books. Thereare revisions on previous mistakes and special notes from philological views if necessary.Secondly, on the basis of above preparations, the paper does a research on how lv’spreference in his works affected his collection and duplication of books, affirms the statusand influences of collecting lv’s works, makes a conclusion that the preference in theduplication of his books is heavily affected by ideological stance and academic activities, andthen declares the meaning of the deign interaction between his works and the collection,duplication activities. Taking lv’s works as an example, the discussion in the paper partlydepends on the research of the criterions which were taken by governors in imperial pavilionto ban books. From the details in prohibition of lv’s books, the paper indicates that thecriterions involved included not only the writer, but also the resource, category, audiences,influence and many other factors.By doing researches of lv’s works from above aspects, this paper can provide theacademic circles with relatively perfect details and references, helps scholars to explore,cognate, research lv’s works from the ideology, implication and resource aspects, and then urges the revivification of its historical status.
