| Legal concepts are the terms which generalized from legal matters, legal status, and juristic acts. Legal concepts are joints of the understanding net, people comprehend and express law on this net. Furthermore, Legal concept, as a basic element of law, is a basic material of legal norm and legal system. Hence, translating legal concept accurately is essential to the accuracy of legal translation. In consideration of rare researches on judicial texts translations, this article translates some opinions of the Supreme Court of the United States of America, focuses on the translation of some legal concepts.In legal language, language, as the carrier of law, is an expression of law, and the goal of legal language is to achieve some legal effects. Legal translation should achieve equivalence both in language and in law. To achieve equivalence in legal meaning between the source language and the target language, translators should look at the translation under a law perspective. Based on law analysis and contrast, this paper discusses the translation of some legal concepts in the opinions of the Supreme Court of America by using law and comparative law knowledge. |
