Improving the quality of education and teaching has always been a hot topic in the education circle.English is one of the key subjects in the stage of compulsory education.Due to various reasons,the quality of English teaching in minority areas is always at a low level.To improve the quality of English teaching and the comprehensive English quality of minority students in junior middle schools in minority areas is not only an urgent need of social development,but also a difficult task.This paper makes four ethnic junior high school students in horqin right middle banner as the research object,makes the improvement of the junior high school English teaching quality for the purpose,uses the method of investigation and observation,inspects the situation of English education in the region,discusses problems arising from the ethnic students in English learning process and the difficulties of ethnic teachers in the teaching process.Therefore,this paper analyzes the main factors that restrict the improvement of local English teaching quality and puts forward corresponding countermeasures.This study begins with the investigation of the current situation of English teaching in junior high schools in the region,briefly introduces the relevant research background,research purpose and research significance,sorts out and summarizes the relevant literature on English teaching at home and abroad,and defines the core concepts.On this basis,I determine the research path and research method,and carry out the investigation of the quality of English teaching in junior high schools in this region by selecting appropriate research tools.After that I classify,sort out and analyze the collected data.By observing and visiting research objects and recycling and analysising the data and examination results,this study fully understand the English teaching situation in Horqin right wing middle banner area.Furthermore,this paper found out the main reasons that have affect the quality of English teaching,they including the students learning difficulties,improper teaching methods,inefficient English learning method and "Shuang Jian" policy and after-school service implementation does not reach the designated position.Finally,in view of the above reasons,this paper thinks the better countermeasures and suggestions to improve the quality of English teaching in junior middle schools in this region are comprehensively discussed from four aspects: improving students’ English understanding and ability,improving teachers’ teaching ability,teaching students learning strategies and methods,and implementing the "double reduction" policy measures.
