As a member of the major calligraphy families in the Eastern Jin Dynasty,Xie’s family in Chenjun rose relatively later.Under the efforts of the three generations of Xiezuan,Xieheng and Xiekun,Xie’ s family gradually got close to the center of political rights. In the next generation of Xiekun,Xie’s family, under the leadership of Xie’an,reached the peak of family status. At the same time, the exchange between Xie’s family and other calligraphy aristocratic families was increasing day by day.During the communication, the calligraphy of Xie’s family was also influenced by other families, especially the new calligraphy style of Wang’s family. In the early days of family calligraphy’s rise,Xie’an studied cursive script and regular script with Wang Youjun.Under the influence of Xie’an,the brothers of later generations in the family should have the same aesthetic appreciation of the new style of calligraphy under his influence, and gradually integrated Wang’s new style of calligraphy into their own blood.Outside the family, from the point of the situation that people in the society to imitate Xie’an,there would also be others who imitate to promote the new style. The influence of the Xie ’ s family declined after the later generations’ children died one after another. The influence of the their family was greatly reduced and finally forgot by common people, and the honer of the family could no longer be restored. But compared with Xi and Yu calligraphy families, the influence of Xie’s family lasted longer, which was the reason why it is better than the other two.As the large calligraphy family in the Wei Jin period, with Wang’s new style as the direction of family calligraphy,Xie’s family promoted the rapid spread of the new style, had made an indelible role and is worth of further exploring. |
