Purpose : To observe the clinical effect of eye acupuncture and the conventional acupuncture alone in treatment of chronic tension-type headache(stagnation of QI due to depression of the liver),evaluating the discrepancy between the two different treatment modalities through the improvement of headache degree, attack times, headache duration,TCM syndrome, unhealthy moods and the exposure of painkiller. To explore its therapeutic basis of eye acupuncture,so as to provide reference for clinical application.Material and method:From January 2021 to June 2022,60 patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were selected from the outpatient and inpatient department of Neurology,Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. All were randomly divided into two group named observation group and control group with 30 cases each.In the control group,Baihui, cervical Jiaji, bilateral Taiyang、Touwei、Fengchi、Shenmen、Zusanli and Taichong were selected in "Acupuncture and Moxibustion Science",the textbook of national planning during the 12th Five-Year Plan period. The eye acupuncture which obtain bilateral liver, spleen and upper energizer area was additionally offered in combined group on this basis.Continuous acupuncture for 5 days and rest for 2 day was a course, and both groups were treated for 4 courses without exception.SPSS 26.0 was used to analyze the data alterations of headache score scale、TCM syndrome scale、SAS、SDS scale and the exposure of painkillers before treatment, and adverse reactions were observed and recorded during the treatmentat the end of treatment course,so as to compare the efficacy. Results:There were a total of 60 cases were finally incorporated,no cases were shed or eliminated and no adverse reactions occurred during treatment.1.Comparison of baseline data between two sets:The general information(age, sex, illness degree, etc.)and pre-treatment related scale evaluation data between two sets had no statistical significance(P>0.05),and they were comparable.2.Comparison of headache cumulative scoring:After treatment, headache cumulative scores and subitems scores(headache severity, pain duration, frequency of attacks)among groups were lessened by a wide margin compared with those before treatment. There were inter-group and intra-group significant difference(P<0.05).3.Comparison of SAS and SDS score:After treatment, the SAS and SDS scores of both groups were lower than before treatment, and the reduction of observation group was significant. There were inter-group and intra-group significant difference(P<0.05).4.Comparison of TCM syndrome integrals:Comparison of Chinese medical evidence before and after treatment, integrals of two groups were lessened. There were inter-group and intra-group significant difference(P<0.05).5.Comparison of the exposure of painkillers:Two sets of data of the exposure of painkillers before treatment was comparable among groups(P > 0.05).At the end of treatment, analgesic consumption decreased and the observation group consumed fewer analgesics, indicating that the observation group was more effective in reducing oral analgesic consumption, with the comparison between groups being statistically significant.6.Difference of the clinical effect:According the cephalalgia cumulative scoring, markedly effective rate was 66.7%,with a total effective rate of 90.0% of observation group after the treatment. It was higher than 33.3%,80% of the another group. The difference was statistically significant(P <0.05),which confirmed the better clinical efficacy of the observation group. From the perspective of TCM syndrome effect, the recovery rate of the two treatments was equal.Compared with the total effective rate,86.7% in the observation group was higher than 76.67% in the control group. There were significant differences in the curative effect between the groups, prompting that TCM syndrome efficacy was more excellent in the observation group.Conclusion:1.Two species of therapy have a excellent curative effect for CTTH patients with stagnation of QI due to depression of the liver.2.The eye acupuncture can significantly reduce the frequency and degree of pain, shorten its duration, regulate unhealthy emotions in patients with CTTH,and effectively reduce oral administration of painkillers.3.The eye acupuncture can better ameliorate the related TCM Syndromes of chronic tension-type headache with stagnation of QI due to depression of the liver. The potency of combined needle method is superior to conventional acupuncture alone which can be further applied in the clinic.
