| Chinese network literature,which is born in the new media environment of the Internet,is undoubtedly a form of creation that has received much attention in contemporary literature research.Due to the special characteristics of the Internet medium,women have an unprecedentedly broad space for discourse.The female Internet literature websites represented by Jinjiang Literature City have served as important platforms for women to create,read,and communicate.Female authors,readers,and their literary works have gradually become hot topics of interest in academia and among the general public.Gender differences have become an important direction that cannot be ignored in the study of online literature.This paper focuses on the study of "female-oriented" online novels in Jinjiang Literary City from the perspective of literary production,focusing on the overall correlation of literary activities and combining internal and external research,which helps to clearly understand the current situation of online literary production.This paper primarily explores three main questions regarding the production of "female-oriented" online novels on Jinjiang Literature City.First,we analyze the production context of "female-oriented" online novels,which have been developed for more than twenty years.The main factors influencing the production of "female-oriented" online novels include the improvement of women’s overall economic and social status,the continuation of the theme of love in literary creation,and the profound influence of Japanese homoerotic culture and Western feminist trends.Under the combined effect of these factors,the creation of "female-oriented" online novels in Jinjiang Literature City has exhibits distinct characteristics in different stages.Secondly,using Bourdieu’s field theory and new media literary theory,the paper analyzes the changes and features of the production model of "female-oriented" online novels on Jinjiang Literature City.Due to the complexity and variability within the field,in order to accumulate more capital and strive for more power,Jinjiang Literary City gradually shifted from the "power for love" model to commercialized operation model based on paid reading and eventually formed a unique "Jinjiang model" of paid reading and IP adaptation operation.On this basis,the author further analyzes the relationship between the actors and various elements within the field.The accumulation of capital makes the position of the creative and receptive subjects change constantly,which also subverts the internal logic of "loser wins" in the literary field.The special characteristics of the production model of Jinjiang Literature City also provide a good soil for the stable development of the "female-oriented" online novel subfield.Thirdly,the paper focuses on the value and significance of the production of "female-oriented" online novels on Jinjiang Literature City.The platform constructed by Jinjiang Literature City provides a space for female creators and recipients,where women’s subjective consciousness is gradually revealed with the changes in production and creation.However,the current production of "female-oriented" online novels on Jinjiang Literature City also faces challenges and issues.First of all,as a youth subculture phenomenon,"female-oriented" network novels inevitably encounter assimilation by mainstream culture.Secondly,under the influence of the change of actors’ positions and mastering capital in the field,influenced by changes in the positions and capital control within the field,the production of "female-oriented" online novels faces issues such as the erosion of creative autonomy and increased differentiation in reader consciousness.In conclusion,the author believes that the healthy development of the production of "female-oriented" online novels requires collaborative efforts from various stakeholders,including the state,academia,platforms,creators and recipients. |
