| Constructed by the foreign language educator Professor Wen Qiufang,the Production-oriented Approach(POA)is a foreign language teaching theory with Chinese characteristics.Although this approach aims to improve China’s college English teaching model that separates learning from practical use,its teaching philosophy,teaching hypothesis and teacher-led teaching process seem to be very conducive to solving the Chinese language teaching problems faced by South Korea,like “insufficient class hours and poor effects”,“mute Chinese”(poor oral Chinese)and “deaf Chinese”(poor Chinese listening comprehension)caused by the lack of language environment and the separation of learning from practical use.By conducting a ten-week POA-based teaching practice and study on oral Chinese for Korean learners with students in two general high schools in South Korea who have primary Chinese proficiency as objects of this study,the Author of this thesis tries to test whether the POA helps to improve the spoken Chinese of Korean learners who face the above-mentioned problems,whether it is beneficial to the combination of classroom oral Chinese and HSK Speaking Test(HSKK),and whether it is applicable to the Chinese language teaching for Korean learners.According to the research problems and on the basis of the POA-based study of oral Chinese teaching design for Korean learners,this thesis uses the software of SPSS Statistics 21.0 to analyze the results of the control group and the experimental group before and after the test as well as the quantitative data in questionnaires,and conducts open coding of the interview results and qualitative data in the questionnaires through the approach proposed by Strass and Corbin(1998).The results of data analysis show that: POA is helpful to improve the spoken Chinese of Korean learners and combine the classroom spoken Chinese with HSKK teaching.POA is very popular among learners,and it can arouse their desire to learn Chinese and enhance their self-confidence in speaking Chinese.The main results of this study: first,a new method,namely,POA,is introduced for the oral Chinese teaching practice for Korean learners.The teaching practice proves that the POA-based spoken Chinese teaching for Korean learners delivers marked results in training learners’ ability to express in paragraph.Secondly,the method to combine daily classroom oral Chinese teaching with HSKK is put forward.In form,the HSKK examination question types are taken as one of the practice methods of classroom oral Chinese.Regarding the contents,words,sentences and chapters are integrated as the teaching materials according to the syllabus of oral Chinese and the HSKK examination outline.Thirdly,suggestions for effectively improving the POA are put forward: in the driven link,video and other means are used to set up the real-world situations to create the “sense of hunger” for students to learn Chinese;in the promotion link,attention should be paid to the guidance in selective learning,and repeated practice should be conducted step by step,without neglecting the explanation of sentence intonation,Chinese characters and grammar;in the evaluation link,importance should be attached on the guidance and supervision of after-school evaluation.In addition,the amount of evaluation contents should be appropriate to avoid excessive burdens on students,which will further cause their burnout of learning Chinese. |
