A Study Of Language Landscape In Xuchang City From The Perspective Of Cultural Inheritance

This paper takes language signs in Xuchang City as the research object and takes "place semiotics theory" and "SPEAKING model" as the theoretical framework to conduct a corresponding research on the language landscape in Xuchang City.By studying the language landscape of Xuchang City,we found that: Xuchang City language sign code is rich,sign forms are diverse,Chinese occupies an absolute advantage;Language signs also tend to diversify their fonts.The application of multimodal language signage and virtual language landscape has increased the publicity scope of Xuchang City.Xuchang City language signs information function to provide basic information to the audience;Symbolic function reflects the identity,power and status of language;Commercial value and communication value have promoted the development of tourism economy in Xuchang to a certain extent.The traditional culture of the language landscape of Xuchang City conveys the excellent cultural idea and national spirit of the Chinese nation,while the characteristic culture shows the unique humanistic temperament of Xuchang City.However,the language landscape of Xuchang City also has some problems in terms of form and content,which requires the full cooperation of the whole society to correct the existing problems of the language landscape and improve the level of local language service.
