| Copying is the basic skill of learning Chinese painting. In the process of learning, painters have always followed their preferences,or traced their origins upward,or studied systematically from the top to the bottom, from“Details of the similarities and differences” to“Exploring the origins of the connotation” to“Extensive changes”,in short,“By the old renovation” is a long-term and essential process.Huang Binhong’s artistic superiority lies in the fact that he has been engaged in the study of painting history,so he can judge the Ancients and distinguish the good from the bad.He once said to his students,“When I was learning to paint,I first copied yuan paintings to make them look good with brush and ink;then I copied Ming paintings to make them look stable and not easy to get into evil ways;then I copied Tang paintings so that I could learn from the past;and finally I copied song paintings to make them look more varied with their methods.” This shows his discrimination of art history. Also because of its copy in the successive choice,as well as the ancient habits, leaving the posterity a number of works of great reference value. One group of landscape paintings are mainly sketched with simple brush strokes. However, these works are different from the original ones, which arouses the attention of the author. Therefore, this article will try to analyze Huang Binhong’s special way of expression on the road to the ancient and the idea behind it,in order to explore the cause of Huang Binhong’s artistic style and aesthetic value. |
