Research On The Narrative Art Of Autistic Films

When movies evolved from simply documenting real life to telling stories by narrative means,thus causing the audience to think and reflect,it has become a real art in a sense.From Lumiere’s "Watering the Gardener" to Meriere’s "A Trip to the Moon" to Griffith’s "Last minute rescue",these firsts in the history of film all highlight the creators’ unremitting pursuit of art.As a narrative art,the film itself is grotesque,is a very personal artistic presentation.With the constant changes of social development,more and more artistic creators focus on the real life.The 1988 Academy Award winning film "Rain Man"(The Rain)hit the screen,a film about autism,came into the audience’s vision,causing hot discussion.The theme of autism is based on reality.While showing the living conditions of autistic groups,it also accurately reflects the mental state of the whole human world and criticizes the lack of human emotion and indifference in social groups.Based on the theory of film narratology and the original screenplay "White Dove",this paper discusses the narrative art of autistic films.The thesis is divided into the following parts.The introduction mainly introduces the research background of films about autism,and reflects the research value of such films through the research and analysis of film narratology.The first chapter introduces the creative motivation and content of the original screenplay "White Dove";The second chapter,through the research of narrative content,shows the real life portrayal of "autism" and the contradictions and emotions between their family members;The third chapter,through the study of narrative form,combines art form with narrative,expounds the connection of narrative perspective,white space and story content;The fourth chapter,based on the social level,expounds the positive impact of the creation of films about autism on real life and the social value given to it,which triggers the audience to think about this kind of films.Finally,summarize and reflect on the work.
