Nowadays,autism in children is no longer a rare condition and is becoming more and more familiar to the public.According to the latest statistics,the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has released a digital count of people with autism by 2020.The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s 2020 study states that as many as one in54 elementary school students in the United States may have autism(ASD)based on2016 statistics,and as many as one in 34 elementary school students may have ASD.Of the 144 girls,1 had autism.Boys are four times more likely to develop autism than girls.Although autism can be reliably diagnosed as early as age 2,most children are diagnosed after age 4.Autism is considered to be a pervasive developmental disorder that manifests itself in three main areas: social interaction,verbal communication and repetitive behaviors.Among them,social disturbance is the main obstacle of autistic patients.The lack of social communication ability has a serious negative impact on their language and psychological development.Therefore,this study aims to improve the social communication ability of autistic children through the implementation of social story picture books intervention measures,and on this basis,to explore and put forward reasonable suggestions according to the corresponding problems.At present,there are many intervention and treatment methods for autism,among which art therapy has been well known in recent years.Among them,music therapy and art therapy are well known.Because of the particularity of the cognitive development and understanding of autistic children,the rehabilitation training of autistic children will encounter many difficulties.In this paper,autistic children are guided to learn social story and picture books suitable for their personal development characteristics to improve their social communication skills.The research of this subject mainly adopts the method of single subject experiment.A child with obvious social communication disorder was selected as an autistic patient,the social interaction story book was taken as the main independent variable,and the social interaction problems of the child with autism disorder were taken as the dependent variable.After a large number of data searches in the baseline period,intervention time and maintenance period,the intervention results were as follows:1.Social story and picture books have a significant effect on the improvement of social communication skills of autistic children.After the active intervention teaching of social story and picture books,there are significant differences before and after the intervention in the subjects’ behaviors of greeting,active and passive interaction with classmate,active communication with teachers and active seeking for help from teachers.2.Compared with the passive interaction,the active interaction of the research object has some difficulties.Although the subjects have been able to understand the activity skills in the teaching intervention,there are still some problems in their performance.The most obvious one is that they seldom initiate active communication and interaction,and only when researchers or teachers remind them,can they make or speak certain actions or languages.However,in the passive interaction,the subjects responded well,and the subjects could immediately respond to the actions given by the classmates,or express their own ideas.3.The study subjects have good learning skills and poor performance skills.Through this intervention teaching,the researcher found that the study subject had good learning ability and the learning process was smooth.However,if she was asked to show her skills,she could not show them.Due to the short duration of this experiment,there are few interventions for the performance skills of the research subjects.In the subsequent experiments,researchers can design targeted experiments so that the research subjects can better show their abilities in other aspects.In addition,the researchers also discussed the application of social story picture books,and put forward some suggestions and understandings for future related research.
