This study focuses on the employability of French major graduates based on the ecological correlation, dynamic balance of educational ecology theory and Doll’s(2000)4R Criteria on curriculum, following the Career EDGE model constructed by Pool &Swell(2007).The study was conducted through questionnaires and interviews to explore the following three questions:(1)What is the employment performance of French major graduates?(2)How does the interaction between the formation of employability and the cultivation mode?(3)How do the graduates evaluate the cultivation mode? The study found that more than half of the graduates work straight after graduation, and they were able to get their first permanent full-time job before graduation.Internships, practice and career guidance were significantly correlated with the employability. The research places the cultivation mode of French major within the higher education ecosystem and finds that the cultivation mode has an inward impact on the employability, while the social environment makes demands on it.The employment of knowledge-based majors is prone to the problem of mismatching, which leads to the waste of educational resources and unsustainable development of majors.Overall, based on the combination between theories of education and management, the study analyzes the interaction between the employability of foreign language graduates and the cultivation mode, which has been little studied before.By retrospectively describing the employment performance of graduates, the result highlights the employment orientation in the evaluation of the foreign language major cultivation mode, enriching the research related to the cultivation of French majors with certain practical and academic significance.
