| This report’s Chinese-English simulated interpreting materials were based on the lecture of Cross-border e-commerce major of Guangxi Financial Vocational College, themed with “Cross-border E-commerce Store Positioning and Products Selection”.This simulated practice mainly focuses on the content of current cross-border e-commerce market situation, platform selection, shop positioning and products selection, etc.Recent years have witnessed China’s e-commerce development in an increasingly fast speed, turning into mature stage.Since cross-border e-commerce development maintains strong momentum, choosing the theme of cross-border e-commerce as the simulated practice material enjoys practical significance.Under the analysis perspective of Seleskovitch’s Interpretive Theory, this report briefly introduces the background and characteristics of the task and mainly discusses each step of the whole interpreting process of the simulated practice.By analyzing typical cases, the author endeavors to explore the challenges encountered in simulated interpreting and coping strategies.Through the analysis of interpreting record and course interpreting features, the author concludes the challenges from linguistic and extra-linguistic perspectives.Extra-linguistic challenges include interpreting anxiety and memory overload while linguistic challenges contain Chinese run-on sentences,answer-providing questions and semantic repetition. On this basis, the author put forth four coping strategies: generalization, logic explicitation, simplification and structural adjustment.Through the detailed description and case analysis of this simulated practice, the author hopes to find out the merits and weakness of her interpretation and put forward suggestion in a bid to achieve better interpretation performance in the future. It is also hoped that the C-E translation skills adopted in this simulated practice will be helpful to other interpretation practice in related fields. |
