The article The Rural Reform,Development and Revitalization in China reviews China’s achievements and progress concerning “three rural issues” since the reform and opening up of the country, and foresees the grand pattern of rural revitalization strategy in the new era, which has important implications for the comprehensive realization of rural revitalization. The theme of rural reform and revitalization,as one of the seldom covered fields in political and economic texts translation, has the prospect and value of research. The translation material is rigorous in writing, complex in sentence patterns, and full of culture-loaded words, long and complex sentences and expressions with agricultural characteristics.Based on the features of political and economic texts and under the guidance of semantic and communicative translation theories put forward by Peter Newmark, the author takes text typology analysis as the starting point, conducts translation case studies from four levels: lexical, syntactic, discourse and rhetorical.Proper nouns and terms in the agricultural field are translated by literal translation and transliteration with annotations, and the cultural color is preserved as much as possible.Omission, conversion, division and use of passive voice are adopted to deal with long and complex sentences,so as to conform to the reading habits of the target readers.By adding conjunction and restructuring, the hidden logical relations in the discourse are revealed. To avoid “translationese”,metaphor is translated by free translation. In addition, the author also conducts due diligence and makes rational use of modern technology such as corpus to ensure the accuracy and expressiveness of translation. In four chapters, the paper introduces the background information of the project, the whole process of translation, case analysis, and reflection and conclusion, respectively.By this subject, the author sorts out some existing research results concerning “three rural issues” and expands the corpus of political and economic texts in this field, which aims at providing suggestions and reference for relevant translation practice in the future.
