As a unique group,children have been attracting public attention.In 1922,the Republic of China formulated a new school system,stipulating the implementation of Dewey’s "children’s center" education.Thus,the transformation from the old "adult-oriented" education to the "child-oriented" education began,and children’s education has been developed.Under the influence of aesthetic education,school music education rose,and a large number of music textbooks appeared,which promoted the development of children’s music.After the outbreak of the "September 18 Incident",the call for children’s education became more and more strong,and the children received more and more attention from the people,and the burden of saving the country,reviving the nation and recovering the sovereignty was placed on the children.This paper aims to analyze the image of children in the music textbooks of the Republic of China,and comprehensively use the multidisciplinary theories and methods of history and pedagogy to understand and explore the image of children in the music textbooks.At the same time,the research method of "speculative" and "empirical" is used to analyze the difference between "ideal" child image and written child image.This paper starts from the music textbooks,analyzes the overall characteristics of music textbooks,and explores the arrangement characteristics of music textbooks from the perspective of school system.Then in the children’s image as the breakthrough point,from the perspective of text and music music textbooks,it is concluded that the music textbooks of the Republic of China mainly shows the image of children labor producers,law-abiding,love the motherland "small people" image,innocent and lively,the image of tong qu and love the image of nature.The influence of the image of children in the music textbooks of the Republic of China is expounded.Finally,the "ideal" child image is compared with the written child image,and the "gap" between the "ideal" child image and the written child image and its reasons are discussed.In this paper,the research of children’s music of the Republic of China adopts a broader perspective and focuses on the music textbooks of the Republic of China.By analyzing the image of children in the music textbooks of the Republic of China,we can fully consider the influence of politics,culture and other levels on the creation of children’s music at that time.Through the study of children’s image in the music textbook,it is beneficial to grasp the overall characteristics of children’s music creation at that time.The music textbook is the concrete embodiment of children’s music creation,and also the concrete practice of the concept of children’s music creation.
