According to relevant scientific research,when children reach the age of 4 and above,they can vaguely perceive the concept of life and death,and gradually form their own cognitive patterns by about 8 years old.In this period,training children to understand life and death,cherish life,and respect life is of great significance to individual development.The intuitiveness and vividness of children’s picture books are necessary for the aesthetic and psychological needs of children aged 8-12.Therefore,through the use of objective and infectious art teaching materials such as children’s picture books,it can more effectively establish a correct outlook on life and outlook on life for children,and even reduce the suicide rate of children and adolescents.The visual arts are a more favourable form of communication for expressing these difficult concepts and emotions.The digital painting boom of recent years has also brought animation,illustration and children’s picture books for life education to the public’s attention,both at home and abroad.In this environment,creators of picture books should not only be content with storytelling,but should also design them around life education,while at the same time taking care of children’s visual aesthetics,guiding children’s learning and thinking skills,while also focusing on aesthetic enhancement.This article takes the design and creation of children’s life-education picture books in the new era as a starting point for exploration,beginning with the development and concept of life education to understand the background;then discusses and analyses the advantages of picture books as a vehicle for children’s life education;then analyses the artistic language from different perspectives,such as composition,colour and design,of excellent life-education picture books for children at home and abroad,and summarises the positive impact of the development of picture book creation on children.The book will then be analysed from different angles,including composition,colour and design.Finally,it will provide an in-depth analysis of how picture books on this topic should be treated in terms of plot and design style.A final summary of the inspiration and the knowledge and principles needed to create a picture book will be confirmed by a practical exercise of creating a children’s biography picture book.
