In recent years,with the improvement of China’s international strength,especially after the "Belt and Road" initiative,exchanges between Myanmar and China have become increasingly frequent,and Chinese language education has gradually received more attention in Myanmar.More and more Chinese learners choose to receive Chinese education in Chinese schools,and there is a trend of younger age.Reading teaching is an indispensable part of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,and reading plays an important role in improving students’ Chinese proficiency and enhancing students’ interest in reading Chinese books.Reading helps to develop students’ ability to read,speak and write,and has always been a hot research topic in international Chinese education research.Modern education technology to assist reading teaching can solve the problems of lack of reading teaching materials,lack of target language environment,etc.,and can improve students’ interest in reading and provide a real language environment.Modern education technology integrates text,images,animation,audio and video,which can mobilize learners’ multiple senses to participate in learning and improve learning efficiency.Based on the investigation of the current situation of reading classes for first-grade students in Yunhua Normal College in Myanmar,this paper discusses how to improve the teaching effect of reading courses with the assistance of modern education technology in view of the problems of high learning pressure,low participation in traditional reading classes,low degree of homework completion,and lack of reading textbooks.At the same time,the interview method was used to interview the reading teachers of the primary school to understand the current situation of reading teachers using modern educational technology to assist reading teaching.Based on the teaching optimization theory and constructivist learning theory,the teaching design was carried out,and the Chinese graded reading textbook "Chinese Little Bookshelf" and the primary series "Journey to the West" were used as the teaching content to conduct one-month controlled experiments on students in grade 1(2)and 1st grade(4)to analyze the teaching effect.Comparing the experimental results and classroom observations,it is concluded that the teaching effect of the first grade(2)class using modern education technology to assist reading teaching is significantly better than that of the first grade(4)class using traditional reading teaching method.However,the use of modern education technology to assist reading teaching also has problems such as excessive reliance on multimedia equipment,insufficient information literacy of teachers,and excessive entertainment of multimedia materials.In view of the above problems,this paper proposes solutions to provide some useful references for the reading teaching of young learners in international Chinese education.
