The Guanzhong area is the core area for the distribution, development and evolution of Yangshao-era archaeological culture, which has successively gone through such periods as the Beishuling Culture, the Banpo Culture, the Miaodigou Culture, the Banpo IV Culture and the Quanhu II Culture. It is also one of the areas with the most complete series of prehistoric painted pottery development in China.Numerous typical sites and faience remains of the Yangshao period provide rich materials for exploring the development pattern of faience in the area. The Neolithic pottery not only brought beauty to the ancestors, but also became their great creation rich in artistry and embodying value beliefs, and to some extent may also be related to the spiritual beliefs of the ancestors at that time. Therefore, the study of painted pottery is of great significance in the archaeological research system.Among them, the colored pottery of the Banpo and Miaodigou cultures is the most developed, and these two historical stages have become the key to the investigation of the colored pottery of the Yangshao period. This paper firstly composes the archaeological discoveries and basic conditions of the main sites of the Yangshao period in the Guanzhong area, and stages the Yangshao period and each site by combining the staging views of previous authors,so as to establish the staging scale in the vertical development of this paper. The typological analysis of the morphology and patterns of painted pottery is also carried out,and a scale for the horizontal study of the classification system of painted pottery is established. At the same time,it is clear that the correspondence between vessel forms and ornaments of painted pottery in the period of Ban Po culture shows strong regularity, and the two major ornamental systems of image style and geometric style of painted pottery in Ban Po culture have been formed in the first phase. In the Miaodigou culture period, the first two phases of pottery were the most prosperous, and the correspondence between vessel shape and decoration was the most diversified in the second phase, and in the third phase, the pottery showed signs of decline, and the types of both vessel shape and decoration were less than those in the first two phases. At the same time, from the cultural characteristics and standardization represented by the Yangshao era pottery and the characteristics of its sacrificial vessels, the pottery was used for rituals at the beginning of the Banpo culture, and in the Miaodigou culture period, the pottery completed the transformation from a sacrificial vessel to a ritual vessel. And because of the strong cultural tension of Miaodigou culture,it profoundly influenced the style of pottery of the surrounding archaeological cultures. This phenomenon shows that the humanistic ideas and spiritual content of Miaodigou culture were accepted by different regional groups, thus promoting the composition of the Chinese primitive cultural community. |
