| Idioms,as the essence of the language system,are a special combination of words that are closely related to each other.Idioms can be used independently in sentences,often expressing broad and profound meanings through vivid and concise language.Idioms originated from people’s daily lives and have developed over different periods,accumulating a rich history and carrying a long culture.This study mainly focuses on the study of "Journey to the West" and its Mongolian translations,and conducts statistical analysis and collection of idioms in "Journey to the West".By comparing the translation of idioms in the Mongolian versions of "Journey to the West",relevant research is conducted,and on this basis,the role of Mongolian translations of idioms in promoting cross-cultural communication is further explored.Through the research,it is found that the Mongolian translation of the idioms in Journey to the West is of great value.Through the translation,the Mongols people can have a further understanding and understanding of the traditional Chinese culture,and can more appreciate the diversity and more possibilities of culture.It is the so-called correct understanding is the premise of love,and the influence of different cultures will constantly eliminate the cultural blind spots between each other.Moreover,translation enables different cultures to constantly carry out cultural exchanges and integration,thus facilitating mutual reference,learning from each other’s strengths and complementing each other’s weaknesses,and truly taking its essence and eliminating its dross to achieve common development.Therefore,Mongolian translation of the idioms in Journey to the West has played a powerful role in promoting cultural development.This paper consists of an introduction,four chapters,and conclusions:The introduction section mainly introduces the research object,reasons and significance of the topic selection,research objectives,research methods,and research status.The first chapter mainly elaborates on the concepts related to Chinese and Mongolian idioms.A brief discussion was conducted on the basic concepts,characteristics,classification,etc.of idioms.Based on this,a comparative analysis was conducted on Chinese and Mongolian idioms,and their similarities and differences,characteristics,etc.were analyzed and summarized.Chapter 2 mainly includes the analysis of idioms and their classification in Journey to the West.Firstly,based on the categories of idioms,including idioms,colloquialism,proverbs,idioms,and allegorical sayings,statistics and organization were conducted on the idioms in Journey to the West.On the basis of analyzing the usage of idioms in Journey to the West,a detailed study was conducted on its four categories.The third chapter mainly analyzes the Mongolian translation of idioms in Journey to the West.Firstly,statistics and analysis were conducted on the Mongolian translation of idioms in Journey to the West.Based on the collected data,it was concluded that the main translation methods used in Mongolian translation of idioms in Journey to the West include free translation,literal translation,both free and literal translation,and other translation methods.Further research was conducted on their usage and characteristics according to different classifications.The fourth chapter mainly conducts research on idioms in Journey to the West from the perspective of cross-cultural communication.This article mainly explores the value brought by the translation of idioms in Journey to the West from aspects such as cross-cultural value,language value,translation value,and social value.The conclusion section mainly summarizes the research content of the paper. |
