Within the context of "Internet + Education",the construction of university curriculum resources not only ushers in development opportunities but also encounters many challenges.Nowadays,in the classroom and extracurricular teaching of College English,how to develop and use various online curriculum resources more effectively,combine them with offline teaching,and realize the common progress and development of the school,teachers and students have become the centre of attention.Given this,this study concentrates on the development and use of online College English curriculum resources in Guilin College,aiming to explore the problems and their causes in the process of development and use.Based on Krashen’s Input Hypothesis Theory and Constructivist Learning Theory,with the help of questionnaires and interviews,30 formal College English teachers and 210 undergraduates in Guilin College were selected as research subjects to explore the following two issues:(1)The overall situation of the development and use of online College English curriculum resources in Guilin College within the context of "Internet + Education";(2)The problems and causes of the development and use of online College English curriculum resources in Guilin College within the context of "Internet + Education".Research results indicate that most teachers and students in Guilin College have positive attitudes toward the development and use of online College English curriculum resources based on "Internet + Education",and have had practical experiences in developing and using online curriculum resources.In addition,most teachers and students can see the benefits and existing problems of online College English curriculum resources.The problems can be categorized into four aspects:weak awareness of teachers’ and students’ concepts,insufficient teachers’ knowledge and skills,insufficient students’ motivation,and monotonous online College English curriculum resources.The causes for the problems are listed as follows:(1)The current research on the development and use of curriculum resources is relatively weak in China,with Guilin College no exception;(2)The long-term implementation of the unified curriculum management system in Guilin College has caused constraints;(3)The students’ practice on development and use of curriculum resource has not yet attracted sufficient attention.Finally,some suggestions are made for school authority,College English teachers and the students:(1)Guilin College could establish a corresponding curriculum development and use incentive system for teachers and students;Guilin College could employ students’ initiative in the development and use of curriculum resources;Guilin College could strengthen the extent of integration of online College English curriculum resources with students’ real life;(2)College English teachers could enrich the structure of online College English curriculum resources;College English teachers could appropriately improve the awareness and ability of online College English curriculum resources development and use;(3)Students could give their initiative into full play actively in the development and use of online College English curriculum resources;Students could develop the habit of independent learning and exploration through the development and use of online College English curriculum resources.
