In the past decades, the research focusing on the theory and practice of English teaching has gradually captured scholars' special attention. Modern teaching methods have their way into English class; hence, making good use of teaching resources is acknowledged day by day. Owing to the promulgation of the Requirement of college English Teaching, the reform of college English teaching displays one of its prominent features, which is the development and conformity of curriculum resources. As a result, college spoken English reform meets the spring of development.The present research is made by qualitative research, which data collected by live observation, interview and objects. My cooperator is Foreign Languages Department in A University in Hunan province. They carry out English intensive training lasting for half a month for freshmen each October. And the main goal for the training is to help the new English majors get used to and improve spoken English.The time of collecting data is from April, 2007 to November, 2007; the way of collecting includes observation, conversation and material objects, etc.There are two thinking ways in the research. One is the present research of the whole process of English intensive training. By attending lectures and discussing with teachers and students, ascertaining research task, setting down research scheme, the research creates three cases, three different aspects, in order to describe and analyze the development and utilization of curriculum resources in English intensive training. The other is to describe and analyze the effects shortages of the development and utilization of curriculum resources during the English intensive training,The development and utilization of curriculum resources during the English intensive training in foreign language college in A university is not perfect. To optimize curriculum resources in spoken English teaching, the thesis is trying to put forward some pieces of advice to dig and make full use of curriculum resources.
