A Study Of Zhou Keqin’s Novels From The Perspective Of Literary Geography

Zhou Keqin,an important realistic writer in the history of Chinese contemporary literature,has made pioneering contributions to the development of contemporary Sichuan literature.Zhou Keqin,who was born in Sichuan and grew up in Sichuan,describes the people,events,feelings and scenes of Sichuan countryside in a specific time and space in his novels.Bashu culture,Tuojiang landscape,and rural customs are all important elements in his literary world,with special marks in a specific region,which cannot be separated from the subtle influence of geographical space as an objective existence on the creative individual.And this also contributes to the writer’s unique artistic personality,aesthetic standards,creation style generation.Literary geography,as a new discipline combining the study of literature and geography,provides us with a new method,a new path and a new Angle to think about problems and study knowledge.In view of the close connection between Zhou Keqin’s novel creation and geographical environment,the study of Zhou Keqin’s novel from the perspective of literary geography can explore the important role of geographical factors in his novel creation,so as to have a deeper understanding of the characteristics of his novel creation and better grasp the artistic value and cultural connotation of his novel creation.This paper takes Zhou Keqin’s novels as the research object,focuses on the influence of the unique geographical environment of Bashu on his creation,intends to investigate the geographical space elements in his novels,and further analyzes the artistic characteristics of Zhou Keqin’s literary creation and the natural and historical sources of this artistic characteristics,so as to understand the meaning of his works and the writer’s thoughts more deeply.This thesis consists of three parts: introduction,text and conclusion.The introduction part of the paper is mainly the reason of the topic,literature review,research significance.The text is composed of four parts: the first part describes the Sichuan Basin culture and the generation of the artistic features of Zhou Keqin’s novels,including the introduction of Sichuan regional culture and Zhou Keqin’s life experience,and further analyzes the artistic features of Zhou Keqin’s novels under the geographical perception.The second part mainly uses the literary geographical criticism method to analyze Zhou Keqin’s novels,in order to explore the concrete embodiment of Sichuan Basin culture in Zhou Keqin’s novels.Firstly,the geographical landscape with regional characteristics in Zhou Keqin’s novels is shown through image analysis,and secondly,the customs and people’s conditions with regional characteristics are shown through the exploration of material folk custom,people’s nature and folk culture.Through combing the local landscape and customs in Zhou Keqin’s novels,the author further explains Zhou Keqin’s experience of Bashu in his novels.The third part is the discussion on the pedigree of regional characters in Zhou Keqin’s novels.In this part,farmers who embrace new ideas,conservative rural grassroots cadres,and intellectuals in county towns are the main objects of exploration,and the characters’ personalities,mentality and thoughts are different under the influence of geographical environment and regional culture.It further reflects the uniqueness and incisiveness of Zhou Keqin’s characterization of characters under the deep influence of regional spirit,which enriches the character pedigree of the novel creation.The fourth part discusses the significance of literary geography in Zhou Keqin’s novels,from local literature to contemporary literature,to the value of the mutual construction between literature and geography,to feel the significance of literary geography comprehensively from small to large.The conclusion is a summary of the whole work,expounds the importance of Zhou Keqin’s novel creation from the perspective of literary geography,and puts forward the research prospect.Zhou Keqin’s novel creation has distinct regional colors,which are reflected in natural scenery,character image and text geographic space construction,etc.This paper tries to present the literary landscape and local expression in Zhou Keqin’s novel creation from the perspective of literary geography,so as to further show the interaction and dialectical relationship between the writer’s works and the geographical environment.It is intended to broaden the horizon of literary research,arouse the attention of Zhou Keqin’s research,and provide some useful reference for interdisciplinary research.
