A Study On Pronouns In Hongya Dialect

Hongya County is located in the southwest of Sichuan Province,and the Hongya dialect belongs to the Minjiang section of Guanchi section of Southwestern Mandarin.According to the existing research results,combined with field research and language theory analysis,this paper describes the usage and function of Hongya dialect pronouns in a more comprehensive and detailed way,and explores the special phenomena in Hongya dialect pronouns.The unique cultural and geographical overview makes Hongya a special region where language and culture interact and blend.Compared with other regions in the same dialect area,it has obvious uniqueness in dialect.This paper mainly adopts the methods of combining field research with literature review,description and interpretation,and comparative research.On the basis of combing the research status of Hongya dialect pronouns and clarifying the research significance,according to the different pronoun objects,it describes the different pronoun functions of three person pronouns and other personal pronouns,and points out the unique ownership form,inclusion form,and exclusion form of dialect personal pronouns,It is proposed that in the actual conversation process,there is a functional expansion of dialect personal pronouns from definite to indefinite,with plural forms indicating singular meaning,and three body pronouns not having referential function but only having distinguishing function.According to the different referents,the demonstrative pronouns in Hongya dialect can be divided into five categories.It is clear that the semantic hierarchy only exists in the near and far parts,belonging to the binary system.It is believed that subjectivity will affect the selection of demonstrative pronouns in dialects.In addition to basic demonstrative,differential,and alternative usage,demonstrative pronouns in dialects also have non demonstrative phenomena,which can be used for discourse markers without practical significance.According to the different types of interrogative objects,interrogative pronouns in Hongya dialect can be divided into nine categories,with "which","what","za",and "hao" as the basic words,and then expanded to form unique interrogative words in the dialect.By exploring the non interrogative usage of interrogative pronouns in Hongya dialect,it is believed that in addition to expressing general questions,interrogative pronouns in the dialect can also be used for arbitrary,virtual,indefinite,and rhetorical questions,and can be overlapped and combined in form.The pronouns of Hongya dialect are compared with the pronouns of Leshan dialect in the same dialect area(Minjiang section of Guanchi section)and Chengdu dialect in the adjacent dialect area(Chengyu section of Southwestern Mandarin)to better highlight the characteristics of the pronouns of Hongya dialect.Based on the description of pronouns in Hongya dialect and the comparison with pronouns in Leshan dialect and Chengdu dialect in the previous text,the characteristics of pronouns in Hongya dialect are summarized,and the innovation and shortcomings of the paper are pointed out.
