A Report On The E-C Translation Of Tik Tok Introduction And Rules From The Perspective Of Communicative Translation Theory

TikTok is an extremely interesting,easily operable and currently popular video software that can bring users much sensory and psychological pleasure in a short time.In an effort to attract users and develop platforms,companies often use words to promote themselves and enhance their image,and translation plays an important role in this process.This paper chooses the English text of the introduction of TikTok and its rule explanation as translation practice material,takes the translation of words and attributive clauses as the main research object,and explores how to achieve the communicative purpose of translation under the guidance of Newmark’s communicative translation theory.Newmark’s communicative translation theory focuses on readers,and emphasizes the readers’ understanding and the effect of translation,that is,whether it can cause the readers’ response,so the expression should be consistent with the language habits of the target readers.The original text involves many words in different fields and uses many attributive clauses.There is no such syntactic structure as attributive clauses in Chinese;therefore,it is difficult to translate English attributive clauses into Chinese properly.This paper discusses the translation of acronyms and compound words at the lexical level,and adjusts acronyms flexibly according to the context,clarifies the meaning,and removes complex content,and amplify compound words to make the meaning more complete and understandable for readers.At the sentence level,this paper discusses the translation of attributive clauses.The methods of combination and adverbialization are used in the translation of restrictive attributive clauses,and the methods of clause separation and sentence separation are used in the translation of non-restrictive attributive clauses.Under the guidance of communicative translation theory,different translation methods are used to get rid of the control of the original text,reorganize the information of the original text,and get the most authentic,fluent and natural translation.This paper explores the translation of acronyms,compound words and attributive clauses in vocative texts under the guidance of communicative translation theory.It is expected that this paper can serve as a reference for the translation practice of similar texts.
