| Writing is one of the components in senior high school English teaching.English writing can help students consolidate language points,master written expression skills and improve their pragmatic ability.However,there are some problems in the current writing teaching,which are mainly reflected in uneven distribution of class hours,teacher-domination in class,and weak motivation of students.Inevitably,it is urgent to solve them.This study is devoted to exploring the positive impact of narrow reading on English writing teaching in senior high schools.It mainly studies the following three aspects: firstly,the current situation of English writing teaching in senior high schools;Secondly,whether the narrow reading teaching strategy can stimulate students’ interest in English reading;Thirdly,whether the narrow reading teaching strategy can improve students’ English writing performance.This study uses the research method of combining quantitative research and qualitative research,and the author uses SPSSPRO platform to deal with and analyze statistics,and discusses the experimental effect of this teaching method as well.Among them,the quantitative research mainly includes the analysis of writing scores before,during and after the experiment,and the questionnaire survey on the current situation of senior high school students’ English writing before and after the experiment.The qualitative research covers interviews with teachers and students before and after the experiment.Through the analysis and discussion of the data,this study draws the following conclusions: firstly,the teaching strategy of combining narrow reading with high school English writing is effective;Secondly,the teaching strategy of combining narrow reading with high school English writing can arouse students’ interest in English learning;Thirdly,the teaching strategy of combining narrow reading with high school English writing can improve students’ English writing performance.To sum up,this study verifies the effectiveness of the teaching strategy of narrow reading in English writing teaching in senior high schools.It is expected that this study can enrich the domestic studies on narrow reading,and provide feasible teaching cases and some helpful suggestions for the follow-up research in this field as well. |
