A Report On The Translation Of Political And Economic News From China Daily Based On The CEA Framework

With the advent of the digital age,news reporting remains an indispensable part of the globalization of information.As a typical informative text,news has its own stylistic characteristics,and its translation requires the flexible application of various translation strategies and skills.However,translators often follow a fixed routine when writing translation reports and tend to focus on problems at the expression level and lack attention to understanding and adaptation,resulting in comprehension difficulties for the target readers.Based on the translation practice of the author’s internship.at China.Daily,this report will analyze the translation of political and economic news according to the CEA framework,with the aim of accurately conveying the information of the source text,improving the quality of the translation,communicating the world’s voice to Chinese readers and exploring the applicability of this framework in the translation of political and economic news.The study found that the three dimensions of "clue of understanding","form of expression" and "purpose of adaptation" are effective in helping translators to analyze and solve problems.A total of twelve pieces of news have been selected from this translation practice.The author will analyze in detail the problems encountered in translation from three dimensions:"Obstacles to Comprehension","Problems with Expression",and "Necessity of Adaptation".The solutions are proposed by using various translation techniques such as amplification,omission,and conversion.The report consists of five parts:Chapter One introduces the background of the translation practice and the selected materials,Chapter Two describes the process of the translation practice,Chapter Three introduces the CEA framework in detail,Chapter Four is the case study section,and Chapter Five is the conclusion.In summary,this report will summarize the author’s translation practice in detail,analyze the problems encountered in the translation process,explore the causes of the problems,and discuss the solutions in order to accumulate practical experience for future translation work.It is also hoped that this report on the translation practice of political and economic news based on the CEA framework can provide some reference and help for other translators.
