The Effect Of Self-Esteem On Resilience In Migrant Children:The Mediating Role Of Attentional Bias And Loneliness | | Posted on:2024-04-19 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:Y Y Zhang | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2545306941461644 | Subject:Applied psychology | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | Faced with changes in living environment,migrant children are prone to a series of psychological adaptation problems in the process of social integration.Resilience,as an indicator to measure individual adaptability,is particularly important for the mental health development of migrant children.Current research has found that self-esteem can be a predictor of resilience,but little research has been conducted on the internal mechanism of the relationship.Therefore,this study integrated cognitive and emotional factors,introducing two variables,attention bias and loneliness,to explore the internal mechanism between selfesteem and psychological resilience.The first study measured the self-esteem and resilience of 392 migrant children in grades 3 to 6 using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and the Resilience Scale for Adolescents.To explore the current state of development of self-esteem and resilience in mobile children and to explore the relationship between self-esteem and resilience.The second study selected 30 participants in the high self-esteem group and 30 participants in the low self-esteem group from the first study,used the point detection paradigm to explore the characteristics of the attentional bias towards different emotional faces(positive faces,negative faces)in the two groups.The third study based on the first study and the second study,a combination of questionnaire and experimental methods was used to measure self-esteem,negative face attention bias,loneliness and resilience in 137 migrant children in grades 3 to 6,and explored whether attention bias and loneliness play a chain mediating role between self-esteem and resilience.The conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)The self-esteem and resilience of migrant children are generally at the upper middle level.(2)The self-esteem of migrant children was significantly positively correlated with resilience.(3)There was no significant attentional bias towards positive emotional faces for both high and low self-esteem migrant children.There was no significant difference in the attentional bias values of positive faces among migrant children with different levels of selfesteem.(4)High self-esteem migrant children did not have an attentional bias towards negative faces;Low self-esteem migrant children had a significant attentional bias towards negative faces.There were significant differences in the attentional bias values of negative faces among migrant children with different levels of self-esteem.The attentional bias of negative faces in migrant children with low self-esteem levels was significantly higher than that in migrant children with high self-esteem levels.(5)The loneliness of migrant children played a partial mediating role between selfesteem and resilience.(6)The negative emotional face attention bias of migrant children had no mediating effect between self-esteem and resilience.(7)The negative face attention bias and loneliness of migrant children played a chain mediating role between self-esteem and resilience. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | migrant children, self-esteem, resilience, attention bias, loneliness | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
