| The text of the translation report is from Chapters 6 and 7 of the book The Future of Electricity Retailing and How We Get There,which focuses on the introduction the distribution service technology and the future of the electricity retail market.The text is a typical science and technology document,with the following characteristics:(1)there are many professional terms,and a large number of compound words and abbreviations are used;(2)Using passive sentences and nominalization to express objective facts;(3)Using a large number of complex long sentences with rigorous logic.Guided by the three principles of Skopos Theory,the translator analyzed and summarized the difficulties in translation and some solutions from the lexical and syntactic levels.At the lexical level,the original text involved a lot of electrical professional terms,compound terms and abbreviations.The translator followed the Skopos principle and adopted the literal translation method to translate professional terms of power equipment.For compound terms and abbreviations,the translator adopted the methods of omission and interpretation to ensure the accuracy and professionalism of terms.At the syntactic level,the translator focused on the analysis of special negative sentences,passive sentences and long and complex sentences in practice,and adopted various translation methods such as recombination,splitting and voice switching to enhance the coherence and fidelity of the language.There is relatively little industry research on the electricity retail market compared to the electricity wholesale market.This translation practice helps to further increase people’s attention to the electricity retail market and provide reference for translation in the electricity related fields.At the same time,it is also possible to provide reference for scholars in the field of electricity market research by translating the text of the electricity retail market. |
