In the grammar system of modern Chinese, the dynamic auxiliary "guo" frequently appears as a dummy word in the teaching and learning of Chinese. For beginners,it is a difficult task to teach grammar in international Chinese teaching because of its complex grammatical meaning. For French beginners, the dynamic auxiliary "guo" is one of the grammatical points that can easily cause mistakes in learning and using Chinese. Therefore,if French students do not have a thorough understanding of the rules of using "guo",their use of "guo" in real life will easily result in the lack of "guo",improper position, wrong addition, wrong substitution, and the difference between "guo" and "le".The dynamic auxiliary "guo" has been discussed by many experts and scholars in today’s academic world. However, comparative studies between the French past tense and the Chinese dynamic auxiliary "guo" are relatively rare. Therefore, this paper will compare the syntactic structure and semantics of the Chinese dynamic auxiliary "guo" with the French corresponding past tense on the basis of the previous studies on the Chinese dynamic auxiliary "guo",so as to find out the similarities and differences between the two.The results were also used to analyze the types of errors and the causes of errors in the learning process of the Chinese dynamic auxiliary "guo" by students of elementary Chinese level. After that, the grammatical features of the Chinese dynamic auxiliary "guo" in the existing international Chinese textbooks are analyzed,so as to make a corresponding teaching design according to the learning characteristics of French elementary Chinese students. This article is divided into the following six sections:The first part is the introduction, which explains the reason for choosing the topic, the purpose of the study, the research method, the review of the study, and the sources of the corpus. The main part is a review of the dynamic auxiliary "guo" in Chinese and its corresponding tense expression in French. The second part explores and compares the expressions of the Chinese dynamic auxiliary "guo" with the French related tenses from the perspectives of semantic comparison and syntactic structure comparison.Based on an overview of the Chinese dynamic auxiliary system and the French related expressions, the semantic and syntactic features of the Chinese dynamic auxiliary "guo" are introduced in detail, and the differences and similarities between them are analyzed by comparing them with the French related tenses. In the third part, firstly, author use the results of the French-Chinese comparison to summarize the types of errors produced by students, analyze the causes of the errors, and propose corresponding solutions and teaching suggestions. The fourth part studies the arrangement characteristics of the dynamic auxiliary word "guo" in existing and widely used international Chinese textbooks, analyzes its advantages and disadvantages, and designs a targeted and feasible teaching design of the Chinese dynamic auxiliary word "guo" based on the actual situation of French Chinese learners and error analysis. After teaching, students’ teaching evaluations are obtained through interviews. The fifth part is teaching summary and reflection. This part first provides feedback and summary on teaching, followed by teaching reflection on the advantages and disadvantages of teaching design, and finally proposes teaching suggestions for different stages of teaching. The sixth part is the conclusion, which summarizes the main content and main ideas of the whole paper, and presents the limitations of the paper and the future directions of exploration.
