With the increasing influence of China in the world and the increasing number of people around the world learning Chinese,learning Chinese has set off a wave around the world.Since the establishment of diplomatic ties,Canada has maintained close communication and cooperation with our country in politics,economy and culture.As a famous immigrant country in the world,Chinese people occupy a high proportion of the local population.With the promotion and dissemination of Chinese in the world,coupled with the bilingual and multicultural policies implemented in Canada,Chinese teaching in Canada has achieved remarkable results.In terms of education system,in addition to the long history of Chinese education in primary and secondary schools,Chinese teaching in colleges and universities also plays an important role in the development of overseas Chinese education.As an important French speaking territory in Canada,Quebec is not only special in geographical location,but also significantly different from other regions in history and culture.The status quo of Chinese development in colleges and universities in the region is also different.This study takes 19 universities and colleges in Quebec as the survey objects,screens out the universities that offer Chinese courses,and divides the universities into English universities and French universities according to the teaching language.By means of network research,text analysis and interviews with local teachers,this paper makes an all-round investigation into the types,training systems,training levels,teachers,teaching materials and other conditions of Chinese courses in universities and colleges in Frenchspeaking areas,and further summarizes the characteristics of Chinese teaching in universities and colleges in French-speaking areas.Then,taking McGill University and the University of Montreal,two important representatives of English universities and French universities in the French-speaking area,as typical cases,the curriculum,teaching materials,teachers and talent training models of these two universities are deeply analyzed,in order to show the development and characteristics of Chinese teaching in different types of universities in the French-speaking area.Finally,on the basis of the previous analysis,this paper discusses the development of international Chinese education in overseas universities from the perspectives of national policies,teaching materials,teacher training and inter-school exchanges and cooperation...
